New Season, No Problem: Interview with Coach Ryan Higginbotham

New Season, No Problem.

Grand Prairie, Texas – As a new addition to the Southern Conference of the Premier Development League, Texas United is a fresh addition to the league.

The talent in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area was seen during the try-outs held by Head Coach Ryan Higginbotham. Players have been picked, kits have been ordered and in its inaugural season, there are high hopes for the newly established team.

“We are looking forward to putting a product on the field that’s fun to watch and I’m excited to get that process started,” said Higginbotham.

With a coach who not only has an extensive career with record stats to match and experience coaching superstar MLS players, the team and its staff are hopeful that this first season will be a successful one.

Higginbotham’s goal is to compete for championships and make sure players stay fit to continue to play well for their respective colleges after the season ends.

With a great coach, there has to come a team that represents his vision. Higginbotham and Assistant Coach Sebastian Vecchio have been working hard this off-season to bring in the best talent for the club.

A large turnout at tryouts held by the team at Airhogs Stadium provided the team with additional homegrown talent for the season.

“Fans come to see goals,” Higginbotham said.  “We want to give them those.”

Higginbotham’s style of playing an attacking and attractive brand of soccer along with the chemistry and relationships he hopes to build with the players this season, are something to definitely look out for this season.

Mark your calendars for May 17, Texas United’s season opener against FC Cleburne at Airhogs Stadium.

Coach Higginbotham looks forward to showing the crowd what his players can do on the field and hopes to offer fans an exciting two-hour show at every home game.
