Head Coach & Technical Director – Arez Ardalani
Arez Ardalani returns for his fifth season and oversees all aspects of Texas United’s soccer operations, — including head coaching duties, recruitment, club management, scouting and hiring of technical staff. Ardalani took the helm as head coach in January of 2018 and also serves as Technical Director as of August 2018.
Ardalani is the longest serving head coach for Texas United and after his first season holds the winningest season record, as well as a first 7-game combined season (2018-2019) record of 6-6-2. He has led the club to the Southern Conference top 5 rankings multiple times, coached local players that went on to play professionally, compete in the Major League Soccer Combine and many other players that went on to earn national USL league recognition (Top U20 players, Top College Prospects, Player of the Week).
In January of 2019, Ardalani developed a Spring Season where he led Texas United in scrimmages against USL Championship clubs. These teams included El Paso Locomotive, OKC Energy, and Swope Park Rangers which helped to add another layer of professional development for his players.
The 2019 USL 2 season saw a team rebuild where Ardalani formed the youngest team in the club’s history with team age average of 19 years old. Additionally, Ardalani helped players gain post season nationwide recognition, with Dominique Kossehasse winning USL 2 Global Great CAF.
Spring of 2020 started a second season of professional friendlies against USL Championship clubs such as Austin Bold FC and El Paso Locomotive. Unfortunately, after those two friendlies the rest of the season was cancelled due to Covid-19 as well as the USL 2 2020 season.
As a player, Ardalani also played three seasons for the RGV Bravos/Ocelots in the PDL and Southern Premier Soccer League.
He has coaching experience from both NCAA Division I and US Soccer Development Academy organizations.
